Hudson VH-AGS wearing the inscription Featherington - Kite open basket-weave flying machine for gentlemen Mk II. This was applied to the aeroplane with DCA runway paint by navigator, Peter Shute, at Coen in July 1970. Although the Hudson has been painted in the orange scheme, the port engine cowling appears to be in the old green scheme. However, this is an illusion caused by faded dyes in the print from which this image is scanned. Other images taken at the same time confirm that the cowling was the same grey colour as the fuselage.Picture: Brian Costello
