A rather
shabby Hudson VH-AGJ at Prestwick, Scotland where it arrived from Sydney
on 4 May 1973. The aircraft is waiting for the airfield to dry out at
its final destination Strathallan Airfield near Auchterardar where it
was ferried on 10 May 1973. This was to be the aircraft's last flight.
The aeroplane was painted in the Adastra orange scheme in 1970 so it
is surprising that the paint is in such poor condition just three years
later. Ferry pilot, Lionel Van Praag, remarked that the aircraft "leaked
like a sieve" which probably explains what appears to be white
sealant around the windows. Picture: Ron Cuskelly Collection (AI515)
