Although officially a Cessna 210-5A, VH-KMF was in reality a Cessna 205, the predecessor of the Cessna 206. The 210-5 was a development of the 210C but had a fixed tri-cycle undercarriage, a 3300lbs TOGW, a stretched fuselage incorporating an extra port side door, two main doors and six seats. It was powered by a 260hp Continental and it, in turn, was developed into the Cessna 206 whilst the 210 line continued on to the 210D etc. (Thanks to Tony Arbon for this explanation).

It is now known that Adastra (Sepal) did apply for CofA and Registration for Mustang A68-104 and that the registration VH-AGV was allotted but not taken up. (See Issue 12)

As a result of new information that Adastra actually purchased Anson VH-WMA and attempted to place it into service, the listings for this aircraft have been amended. Adastra requested two registrations, VH-AGO and VH-AGJ, both of which have been added to the table even though both were refused.

Added
Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd DC-3 G-AMYW as this aircraft was used alongside
Hudson VH-AGE on the Timor Sea contract in 1965. Several contemporary
reports stated that the Adastra fleet included two DC-3s, so it
is possible that G-AMYW was Adastra's second DC-3. It has been suggested
that it may have been necessary to include G-AMYW on Adastra's airwork
licence. Addendum 05JAN04: Bill Mitchell believes that it is not appropriate to include G-AMYW in a list of Adastra aircraft. Addendum 09NOV09: Doug Morrison advises; "Geoscience Australia indexes on aeromagnetic surveys indicate that the Arafura Sea survey flown by Huntings DC-3 G-AMYW which commenced in July 1965 appears to have been on a contract between Shell Development (Aust) Pty Ltd and Adastra Hunting Geophysics Pty Ltd. So technically and legally, if Geoscience Australia are correct, it was an Adastra survey. This would mean that Adastra, legally, did have two DC-3s for a short time operating off their aerial work licence." |

Added B-17 CF-HBP of Kenting Aviation. Although the B-17 was never operated by Adastra, the company was evidently involved in handling the aircraft during its November 1958 visit to Sydney. See photos.
