B.A. Eagle VH-UUY after its forced landing on the beach at Shellharbour following a loss of oil pressure while operating Adastra's service from Sydney to Bega on 22 August 1940. Paul Hockey believes that this photo was taken by his father. He has identified the location as the southern end of the main surf beach which is now called Shellharbour north surf beach. Adastra had recommenced their Sydney-Bega service with the Eagle only three days earlier. Just one month later Adastra withdrew the aircraft from service pending sale. Picture: Paul Hockey
