DC-3 VH-DAS was briefly named in honour of the wartime Path Finder Force in which Allan Vial served. This photo was taken in Adelaide on 16 January 1958 soon after the aircraft arrived from Bankstown where its survey modifications were carried out by Fairey Aviation. The aircraft was soon renamed "Clive Hambridge" in honour of the South Australian Surveyor General who, ironically, had opposed the project! Photo: Allan Vial
